FAQ
Why choose the 7-inch model over a 5-inch drone?
The 7-inch frame is a dedicated Long-Range explorer. It offers superior stability in high winds and significantly longer flight times. Whether you are "mountain surfing" or chasing long-distance cinematic shots, the 7-inch provides the efficiency and "floaty" feel that smaller drones lack.
Which version is best for Long Range?
O4 PRO Edition: The gold standard for modern long-range. It provides a crisp HD feed so you can see every detail of the terrain 15km away.
Analog Edition: Preferred by "hardcore" long-range pilots who want the absolute lowest latency and a signal that "degrades gracefully" rather than cutting out instantly. It’s also the lightest and most budget-friendly.
PNP Version: Best for pilots who have a specific long-range receiver preference (like TBS Crossfire 915MHz or ELRS 915MHz/2.4G) and want to install it themselves for maximum signal penetration.
Does it have "GPS Rescue" pre-configured?
Yes! The X701 comes with the GPS Rescue mode fully pre-configured as a standard safety feature.
LiPo or Li-ion? Which battery should I use?
For Maximum Range: Use a 6S 4000mAh - 5000mAh Li-ion pack (like VTC6 or 21700 cells). This can push your flight time to 15-25 minutes of steady cruising.
For Freestyle/Power: Use a 6S 1300mAh - 2200mAh LiPo (High C-rating). Best for aggressive mountain diving.
What is the maximum payload?
This 7-inch beast can easily carry a full-sized GoPro Hero 13 plus a large Li-ion battery. The high-torque motors are designed to handle the extra weight without overheating the ESCs.
Is the frame stiff enough for 7-inch props?
Absolutely. To prevent "Mid-range oscillations" common in larger drones, we use 6mm carbon fiber arms and a reinforced mid-section. This ensures a "locked-in" feel even when fighting high-altitude winds.
What spare parts should I carry for a trip?
For long-range missions, we highly recommend carrying:
- Extra sets of 7-inch propellers (balanced for efficiency).
- A spare GPS antenna.
- A set of replacement arms.
We use high-gain M10 GPS modules for faster satellite acquisition.
Better visibility means you can spot power lines and branches from much further away.
